If you’re considering private treatment for gambling harm, whether it’s for yourself or someone you love, this article outlines the costs and what’s included. The Retreat by Gordon Moody charges a flat fee of £15,000 (GBP) for the retreat programme, which includes up to 18 weeks of treatment.
What the £15,000 Covers
The fee covers all three phases of The Retreat Programme:
There isn’t a set price for each phase of the treatment as phases can be different lengths based on individual needs, but the total amount is a set fee. Whether you are funding yourself or supporting a loved one, you know the total cost of the treatment.
Food and Living Costs During the Stay
The residential setting is self-catering, so residents shop and cook for themselves instead of following a set menu. Each resident gets an £80 food budget for each of their two residential weeks to cover this.
How and When You Pay
We only accept payment in GBP.
What Isn’t Included
Whether you’re entering treatment yourself or supporting someone you care about, there are two additional costs outside the £15,000 fee that are helpful to keep in mind upfront:
1. Travel to and from the UK
Travel arrangements must be made independently. Our team can provide guidance on local transport, but we do not offer travel management or arrival pickup services.
2. Family visits
Partners and family members cannot visit during residential weeks. This policy ensures a quiet, distraction-free atmosphere so all residents can focus fully on their recovery.
Why Choose The Retreat by Gordon Moody
Gordon Moody has led specialist gambling treatment in the UK for over 50 years, and The Retreat is the private, residential side of that work. It’s built around gambling harm specifically, not addiction in general, so here’s what that means for you or the person you’re supporting:

Gambling Rehab Cost FAQs
Does the cost change if the stay is shorter than 18 weeks?
The cost of the programme doesn’t change based on how long the individual phases run to. The £15,000 fee is agreed upfront and stays the same throughout, up to the 18-week maximum.
What’s the food budget for, exactly?
The food budget supports the self-catering model at The Retreat. Residents get £80 for each residential week to buy and prepare their own food.
Can I pay in US dollars?
We don’t currently accept payment in US dollars or any other currency. All payments for the programme need to be made in GBP.
Will you help arrange travel to the UK?
We’re happy to offer travel recommendations to help you plan your journey, but all bookings must be made independently. Please note that our team cannot manage travel logistics or provide airport meet-and-greet services.
Can I visit my partner or family member while they’re at The Retreat?
We don’t hold family visits during residential stays to protect the focus of the treatment space. If you’re supporting someone in treatment, you’ll still be able to communicate directly with our team throughout their stay.
Is the initial consultation or assessment charged separately?
No, both the initial consultation and the admissions assessment are completely free of charge. There are no separate fees for these initial steps, and completing them carries no obligation to enter treatment.
